Charges are pending after one man was left dead in a crash involving a car and motorcycle Saturday night.
Investigators with the Huntsville Police Department said a blue 2001 Dodge Ram and a 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle collided at the intersection of Highway 53 and Stringfield Road at approximately 9 p.m.
The driver of the motorcycle, 54-year-old Stanley Wade Garner of Harvest, was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators said the driver of the Dodge, Willie C. McCord, 70, of Huntsville, was uninjured and is suspected of drinking alcohol prior to the accident.
Police took blood and urine samples from McCord at Huntsville Hospital for a toxicology kit. The samples will be sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for analysis, according to police.
